INTRODUCTION

If you don’t feel ready to move onto a new course or haven’t made up your mind what to do for a career, then look no further, this exciting course could be for you!

If you decide to join the course we will be able to help build up your confidence and skills to move onto the next stage of your life.  .

There are different levels of the course E1, E2, E3 and the Retail course E3 and L1.  The Retail course is aimed at anyone who is interested in gaining employment within the retail sector.  As part of this course you will have the opportunity to take part in a retail training in conjunction with Tesco Extra Hamilton Store for one day a week.

LENGTH OF COURSE

The course is a one year course.  The majority of students will normally re apply at the end of the first year to study for a further year as long you are  demonstrating good commitment to the course and you are  making good progress.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

You do not need any qualifications although you will have to show you are capable of working at milestone 8/ P level 8.  Your levels of Maths and English will be assessed and you will join the course at an appropriate level.  You of cause need to be motivated and genuinely committed to make the most of this opportunity.

HOW WILL I STUDY?

It is a very practical course and you will have the opportunity to learn new skills in lots of different areas and contexts.

The course is a full time course and you will possibly have access to private study periods where you will be expected to complete a variety of tasks to support your learning.

What are vocational learning units?
These units are available for students who are studying at entry level 1, 2 or 3 only.

On your timetable you will have 4 hours of vocational learning units.  There are different units for you to choose from they are: Travel and Tourism, Art, Sport and Active Leisure, Horticulture and Performing Arts.

WHERE NEXT?

When you have completed a course you can progress and move onto a higher level of that particular subject.  Once you gained English and Maths at entry level 3 you will be ready to study at level 1.  For some of you, it might be a route to gain employment into the retail sector.
