INTRODUCTION

If you would like to gain a job in the retail sector then this is the course for you!

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

You do not need any qualifications. Your level of skills in Maths and English will be assessed and you will join the course at an appropriate level. You of course need to be motivated and genuinely committed to make the most of this opportunity.

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

If you decide to join the course we will be able to help build up your confidence and skills to move onto the next stage of your life. It is a very practical course and you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills in the following areas:

Job applications and Interviews
Health and Safety in the Workplace
Working Safely at Tesco
Handling Stock in a Retail environment
Looking after customers in a Retail environment.

You will have the opportunity to work one a day at Tesco with support as required. (You’ll get lots of help to improve your basic skills in Literacy, Numeracy, using computers and working with others. Remember, these are all highly valued skills in the world of work.

CONTENT

You will have grown in confidence and learnt a lot of new skills.

You will also have achieved some nationally recognised qualifications:

Adult Literacy Entry Levels 1, 2 or 3
Adult Numeracy Entry Levels 1, 2 or 3
Basic Skills IT Entry Levels 1, 2 or 3
Skills for Working Life (Retail ) Level 1, 2 or 3
City and Guilds Retail Level 1

WHERE NEXT?

When you have completed this course you will be ready to study at Level 1. For some of you, it may even be a route into employment to gain a job in the retail sector.
