Parents' Guide for Entry to Gateway
Your son/daughter has to make an important and life changing decision about where and what to study after GCSEs.

We understand the challenges facing them as they take the next step in their education and this brief guide is designed to provide you, as parents/carers, with more information about the College and the services and support available.

If your son or daughter chooses to study at Gateway College, they will be joining at the start of one of the most exciting times in local educational history. The 33 million investment in new facilities in Hamilton, plus dynamic teaching across a broad curriculum choice, in a supportive environment, makes Gateway a great choice for future success.

We take pride in the fact that we treat our students with the trust and expectation that they will take responsibility for reaching their chosen goals. After all, these are the personal qualities they will need in the next stage of their lives, whether this be in employment or at university. However, we also have a strong support system in place to ensure that their progress is continually monitored in order to offer them the support they need. Personal contact with parents/carers/ guardians is also important to us - there are Consultation evenings scheduled during the year where you can talk to course tutors about your son or daughter's development.

I hope that this short 'guide' - in addition to the CD in the College Prospectus will help you and your son/daughter make the right choice about their future. I look forward to welcoming them to Gateway College in September 2009.
