RENT

On the 14th and 15th of April, students at Gateway College performed Jonathon Larsons hit musical ‘Rent’. Both performances were sold out and more than 350 people came to enjoy what was a superb show. Using students from across all the Performing Arts courses, as well as students in other faculties, they were able to produce a magical piece of theatre that left audiences struck by the level of professionalism shown. 

This was the first Musical ever presented at Gateway and was a huge undertaking to both staff and students. Rehearsals for the show took place on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening with the learners giving up their free time to work on this exciting event. It was a testament to the dedication of the students at Gateway that they were able to not only take on such an ambitious project,  but to succeed in producing a piece of theatre that was professional as well as entertaining.

We are very proud of all the student who took part in the performance and want to thank all friends, family and staff that attended the show. The feedback from staff in particular was very positive with many amazed at the scale of the production. We are already looking forward to our next production and hope that you will all come and support the students in the same way you have done this year.
