Expectations for Remote Working Summer Term 19/20
The College has been working hard to keep you updated with the advice and guidance provided by the Department for Education (DfE) during the lockdown period.
Exam boards will be asking your teachers to generate, for each subject, centre assessment grades for all students who study at Gateway College, and then to rank order them within each of these grades.
Work Completed after 20th March 2020 Lockdown
The current guidance from the DfE states:
“There is no requirement to set additional mock exams or homework tasks for the purposes of determining a centre assessment grade and no student should be disadvantaged if they are unable to complete any work set after schools were closed on 20 March.”
Supporting you, our students, to continue to develop your knowledge and skills is important. This is why we are asking you to maintain contact with your teachers and tutors, undertaking any activities that are being set, and working to develop your understanding of your chosen subject from any appropriate feedback given by your teachers. While the work or tasks may not be used for formal assessment purposes, there are opportunities and many benefits to your continued learning. Having a structured day will help maintain your general health and wellbeing. For all students there is a need to complete work in order to develop your underpinning knowledge and skills to support your progression next year, whether that be within the college, or moving onwards to University.
Please continue to work with us to help you succeed, and reach the goals you are working towards. If you have any questions please continue to contact your tutor or Head of School.
