Summer 2020 Exams Update

Predicted Grades: A Note to All Students

We are aware that you will be concerned following the announcement from the Government about how exam grades will be awarded.

Many of you will feel disappointed that you will not be sitting a final exam and will be worried about how this might affect your final grade profile and what this might mean for your future plans and progression. Some of you may have contacted your teachers and tutors with questions around this.

As a college, we will be continuing to work with exam boards to support strategies that will ensure that your “hard work and dedication is rewarded and fairly recognised”.  At this stage, we are still awaiting further clarification from exam boards.  It is for this reason that it is important that you remain focused and continue to work as though you will sit final exams and/ or submit all work set out for your course. It is not appropriate for you to seek out predicted grades from your teachers. Please do not do this, we cannot respond to your queries and requests around predicted grades.

How predicted grades will be awarded is unclear at this present time, and therefore it is vitally important that you continue to improve your current grading wherever possible.  This is a challenging time, but it is necessary to keep working hard and your teachers and tutors will continue to give feedback to help you improve.

Please continue to check in with your tutors, your Cedar page, and also be alert for further information from the college via email and website updates. For further Government guidance please go to the link below.
